Terms of Use
Last updated: 1 November 2026
These terms apply to your use of assesseasy.com.au, Lookout, our online assessments and the AssessEasy AI Shield extension (together, the "Services"). They are provided by Tushar Srivastava, a sole trader trading as AssessEasy (ABN 33 842 052 796), Sydney, New South Wales ("AssessEasy", "we", "us").
By using the Services, creating an account or paying for a subscription, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Who can use the Services
You must be at least 18 and be using the Services for a genuine business or professional purpose. If you sign up on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.
2. Accounts
- Give accurate information, including your business details, and keep it up to date.
- Disposable or temporary email addresses and false business details are not allowed.
- Keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- We may verify your business details (for example by checking your ABN or business email domain). We may refuse, suspend or close accounts that appear false or abusive.
3. Lookout and the free breach check
- Only check email addresses and domains that belong to you or your organisation, or that you are authorised to check. Do not use Lookout to investigate, harass or target other people.
- Results come from third-party breach-data sources. They may be incomplete, delayed or inaccurate. A clear result does not mean you have not been breached, and a positive result does not tell you who was responsible.
- Do not use automated tools to scrape or bulk-query the Services, and do not try to bypass rate limits or access controls.
- We do not save the email address or domain you enter for a free check in our database or logs. It is sent to third-party breach-data providers to run the check. See the Privacy Policy.
4. Paid subscriptions and fees
- Prices are shown in Australian dollars at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time by emailing admin@assesseasy.com.au. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
- Fees are not refundable except where the Australian Consumer Law or another law requires a refund, or where we agree otherwise in writing.
- We will give at least 30 days' notice of any price change. You can cancel before it takes effect.
5. Assessments, reports and advice
- Assessments, scores, reports and AI-assisted material are general information to help you improve your security. They are based on the information you provide and the time and scope of the work.
- They are not legal advice, a guarantee of security or compliance, or a guarantee of any accreditation, audit or insurance outcome. You remain responsible for your own decisions and compliance obligations.
- Paid consulting or managed services are provided under a separate written agreement. If it conflicts with these terms, that agreement prevails for those services.
6. AI Shield
AI Shield is provided free to help reduce the chance of sensitive data being typed into AI tools. It is a safety aid and will not catch every case. It does not replace staff training, policy or good judgement. Its use is also subject to the Chrome Web Store terms.
7. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the Services. That includes breaking the law, introducing malicious code, probing or attacking our systems, interfering with other users, or reselling or redistributing the Services or our content without our written consent.
8. Intellectual property
AssessEasy owns the Services, including the software, assessment content, templates, branding and reports we create, apart from your own information. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive right to use them for your own business purposes. You may not copy, reverse engineer or redistribute them without our permission. You keep ownership of the information you give us and permit us to use it only to provide the Services and as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Consumer law and liability
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, warranty or condition, that you have under the Australian Consumer Law or another law that cannot be excluded.
Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows:
- We provide the Services with due care and skill, but we do not promise they will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost data or loss of business opportunity.
- Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the fees you paid us for the Services in the 12 months before the claim arose (or, for free Services, AUD $100).
- Where the law allows us to limit our liability for a breach of a non-excludable guarantee, we limit it to resupplying the Services or paying the cost of having them resupplied.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, misuse the Services, or if we reasonably suspect fraud or a security risk. Where practical we will tell you why. You can stop using the Services or close your account at any time. Clauses that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property and liability) continue after termination.
11. Changes
We may update these terms or the Services. We will give at least 30 days' notice of material changes, on the website or by email. If you keep using the Services after the change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
